Coming HomeAs I'm sure everyone is aware, the Cav is coming home. Combat Spurs were awarded this week to members of the Squadron and, for the most part, we're all relaxing and waiting for our redeployment. The Squadron will be home shortly and after a demobilization at Fort Bliss, we'll be ready for some much deserved leave. I can't say I'll miss this place much, though it has definitely been a much more comfortable and uneventful tour than my last foray in the sandbox. In other news, Para USA is offering a great deal on a custom pistol to commemorate the deployment. This will be a limited production run and you can view the details on the linked flyer. A separate Excel spreadsheet version of the order form is also available for download. Pistols are purchased through a factory direct payment and shipped to either Praco Pawn in Waco or Guns Galore in Killeen. The entire Soldier/Family Deployment Survival Handbook: http://marsmen.org/downloads/survival.pdf Military Power of Attorney: http://marsmen.org/downloads/MilitaryPOA.pdf Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer. This is, in my unprofessional opinion, a decent General Power of Attorney and is the one I'm using. Be sure to read this thoroughly before deciding to use it. It gives your attorney-in-fact power to do just about everything in your name. If you want to be more restrictive, I would suggest a Special Power of Attorney that specifies exactly what you want your attorney-in-fact to be responsible for. Texas Cavalry Medal is hereI first wrote about the medal here. The referenced article in that article has since been updated by me to show the new Texas Cavalry Medal, which I was able to pick up and hand out to a few other troopers when I saw them this past drill weekend. For those that will wear the medal or ribbon on their uniform the order of precedence has this falling after the Texas Combat Service Ribbon and before the Texas Faithful Service Medal. I'll publish a separate article showing the order of precedence of all State awards. Click on the thumbnail to see the new design. If you have not received your medal yet, contact me and I'll track it down for you. Posted by SFCWyatt Monday, July 16, 2007 (12:56:27) comments? |
